Oh happy (mistakes) day, Drivers! Heffron Drive dropped Happy Mistakes Unplugged, the acoustic version of their debut album, and we've got our hands on the music video for the title track.

In typical Kendall Schmidt fashion, the video is part serious (cue Kendall and Dustin strumming away on their acoustic guitars in the sunset) and part hilarious, with Kendall and Dustin giving each other a hard time in the studio. But overall, the video is the perfect showcase for the band's raw talent — and we love how the song sounds stripped down. Kendall Schmidt's vocals for days, right, Drivers and Rushers? And then there's the fact that Heffron Drive filmed the music video in their studio while recording the song, giving us an intimate look at all of the cool insider, behind-the-scenes action. We're so VIP.

As for why Kendall wanted to go the acoustic route on this album, he told PopCrush that he was strongly influenced by the music he listened to growing up.

"I listened to a lot of pop-punk bands — honestly, I’ll even venture to say emo bands — and oftentimes they would make acoustic records for their otherwise more intense songs, and I always thought it was kind of cool," he explained. "...I always kind of thought it would be cool to do acoustic renditions of everything."
We totally agree, and we're happy to say it came out awesome.
