Star and creator of HBO’s Insecure Issa Rae has thoughts on all those shows that follow white teens around, and she thinks it’s time for one that focuses on African American kids. Given the successes of shows like 90210, Gossip Girl, and basically everything on The CW, Rae’s case is fairly strong. Hopefully she’ll be able to convince some network or streaming service to give her a shot at making that show a reality.
Fans wondering why Kendall Jenner wasn’t on the list of models for this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show don’t have to wonder any longer. Turns out she got a much better deal. Rather than just being a runway model for one show a year, Jenner will apparently be the new face of La Perla, a boutique lingerie competitor that doesn’t want its new ambassador strutting around in rival undies.
Gwyneth Paltrow has had her fair share of high-profile relationships, but they always seem to fizzle out before settling in for the long haul. On a recent episode of the Girlboss podcast, Paltrow said that while she’s successful in a lot of aspects of her life, romance has never been one of them. Prince Harry‘s current girlfriend Meghan Markle is believed to be meeting with Queen Elizabeth II this week as part of a massive introduction to the whole Royal Family. And rumor has it Markle’s seeking Queen Mum’s approval on Harry’s planned proposal to the Suits actor. Good luck, fam.
Continuing the trend of female remakes of traditionally all-male films, Warner Bros. has turned its attention to Lord of the Flies hoping it can be the next gender-swapped hit. Given the serious nature and tone of the original novel, there’s a good chance this idea can work.
