Jay-Z and Beyonce celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba, with Jay puffing on cigars and Bey snapping photos of the landscape, likely for her Tumblr, where she shares tons and tons of pics. As soon as the images and the news of the couple enjoying the country and Havana landed online, the criticism of their choice of destination also hit.

A Cuban rights lobbyist has attacked the famous duo for their ignorance of what else is going on in the country. Mauricio Claver-Carone, the D.C. director for the US-Cuba Democracy PAC, which is a group committed to fighting for democracy in Cuba, said Jayonce should've educated themselves properly before visiting the country.

U.S. citizens aren't supposed to travel to Cuba as tourists and are required to obtain travel licenses from the government, due to the lack of diplomatic relations between America and Cuba. So Claver-Carone is disappointed that the duo chose Cuba as a vacation spot. "There are women getting beaten on a daily basis, women who are being jailed for no reason ... people are fighting for their freedom. It’s extremely insensitive," he said.

The duo has not commented on the criticism and it's doubtful that they will. It's not going to change the fact that they visited the region.
