Taylor Swift couldn't make it to 18-year-old Kevin McGuire's prom, but instead invited him to be her date to the Academy of Country Music Awards. His reaction? Near speechlessness.

Last week, the teen made headlines when his sister, Victoria McGuire, created a Facebook page asking the country star to be her brother's prom date. The teen is battling leukemia for the second time, and Victoria wanted to make his senior year extra special.

With the support of friends and family, word of the Facebook page spread and caught the attention of the 'Speak Now' singer herself. She responded on Facebook: "Kevin, I’m so sorry but I won’t be able to make it to your prom. But I was wondering, the ACM Awards are coming up. Would you be my date? Love, Taylor.”

Kevin is currently being treated at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and CBS Philly was there when he received the invite. "I don’t know what else to say. I was just trying not to throw up," he said, adding, "I have cancer. Cancer doesn’t have me ... Taylor, I would love to go with you."

Kevin still needs to undergo treatment, which will cause him to lose his hair and be "puffy." However, the ACM Awards are scheduled for Sunday, April 1 in Las Vegas, so he'll hopefully be healthy enough to travel.
