Like dozens of other exasperated celebrities and pop stars, Lady Gaga is frustrated by Donald Trump‘s perplexing and sudden ban against transgender individuals serving in the United States military.

On Twitter, “The Cure” singer accused the U.S. president of endangering “the lives of people all over the United States and overseas” on Wednesday evening (July 26).

Gaga shared that Trump’s message of exclusion would only further marginalize people who are trans, which would lead to “isolation and targeting” by transphobic people encouraged by Trump’s stance.

“Sincerely, did you know of the group you singled out today, 45% of them ages (18 to 24) have attempted suicide already?” she asked in one tweet, tagging Trump.

The performer and passionate LGBTQ ally also slammed the ban for being an insult to transgender people already serving in the military.

“Within the Trans Community are many also who are strong & brave. They should be able to serve if they wish. To have honor if they do,” she added.

On Wednesday, Trump announced that the military would soon ban transgender individuals from serving in the U.S. armed forces.

“After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military,” he tweeted.

“Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you,” Trump concluded.
