Following Scotty McCreery's suit, 'American Idol' contestant Lauren Alaina also chose a country song that spoke to the current state of affairs in our country. For her inspirational first performance, Lauren Alaina took on country powerhouse Martina McBride and her song 'Anyway,' and dedicated it to all of the people down South (Alaina is a Georgia girl) suffering from the devastating series of tornadoes.

Alaina stepped out looking like the ultimate diva, donning a crimson ball gown, tear drop earrings, and high, high heels. Her performance was pretty much flawless, and she gave us goosebumps as she sang the heartfelt verse, "God is great / But sometimes life ain't good / And when I pray / It doesn't always turn out like I think it should / But I do it anyway / I do it anyway."

Judge Steven Tyler is a huge fan of Alaina, and this week he tells her, "You're voice is so pure and perfect ... And you deliver a song like a blue plate special." Jennifer Lopez also praised Alaina, saying, "Great vocal performance," while Randy Jackson delivered one of his many tag lines, saying, "You know what was wrong with that performance guys? Absolutely nothing!"

We would have to agree.
