Some new details have emerged about 'American Idol' runner up Lauren Alaina and her hotly anticipated debut album, which she is currently hard at work on. MJSBigBlog reports that the pretty blond teen will record a song called 'Georgia Peaches' for her debut album due out on 19/Mercury Nashville/Interscope.

Since Alaina hails from the great state of Georgia and is as "purty" as a peach, it's a fitting choice of song for her first album. The song was written by a trio of country-pop songwriters, so we'll go out on a limb here and assume that the song will play to Alaina's strengths that we got to know incredibly well during her time on the show. She often mixed country and pop, with a heavier lean towards country.

Alaina's second place finish on Season 10 of 'Idol' actually didn't hamper her career at all. In fact, it helped her, as the nation remains transfixed by everything she and winner Scotty McCreery do, even three months after the season wrapped.

We can't wait to hear 'Georgia Peaches' and all the other songs that populate Alaina's debut album. We love the way she handled the emotional, tearjerker ballad 'Like My Mother Does' (which was also her debut single) and we're jonesing to hear even more.
