Lauren Alaina was christened an early 'American Idol' favorite the first day we first heard her voice. The 16 year old sings, dances and moves like she has been performing since she was in the womb.

Alaina's high-octane version of Reba McEntire's 'Turn on the Radio' proved that she's a little bit Kelly Clarkson and a little bit Carrie Underwood with her urban, pop and country hybrid style. Know what that translates to? Superstar! To be compared to Clarkson and Underwood, two past winners, means that Alaina could very well be on her way.

Judge Jennifer Lopez noted that Alaina doesn't even have to try. Lopez said that her performances are both effortless and natural, and she can sing anything believably. The judges also said that the teen doesn't even know how talented she is.

Overall, Alaina's got that "every woman" character that mainstream Americans can relate to, and maybe Steven Tyler was onto something when he tossed out the term "the one" after we first met Lauren Alaina.

Alaina's large and full-of-life performance was preceded by Thia Megia's quiet, but 100% quality rendition of 'Out Here on My Own' from 'Fame.' The judges noted the 15 year old's understated composure and her pitch-perfect delivery, which is no small feat. They even compared her to a young Michael Jackson. It's going to be hard to pick a winner this season.
