Strap on your rubber boots and steer clear of open fields—Leona Lewis is ushering a massive storm into town, and it's bound to down power lines.

The former X Factor winner, whose I Am recently hit stores, performed her latest single, "Thunder," on the Late Late Show with James Corden last night (September 21) and according to Doppler Radar, it was worthy of its very own severe weather advisory.

Like any storm, "Thunder" moves in slowly, offering only small hints of the wind and rain to come. But soon, the dark clouds gather and expand, and by the chorus, Leona's vocals deliver a series of blinding lightning bolts. "I won't wait any longer / When you left me down I got stronger," she insists.

And if "Thunder" feels a bit different for the "Bleeding Love" singer, it could be the result of new management. Earlier this summer, Leona told Sirius XM radio that she left her longtime label when she and her management couldn't see eye-to-eye over the direction of her career's next step.

“I felt like I just needed to move on. We had differences,” she said. ”The label wanted me to do an album of covers, and I just felt like I had not gotten to the point where I wanted to do that.”

I Am, Leona's fifth album, was released on September 11 and has peaked at No. 38 on the Billboard 200.
