Mathew Knowles is answering charges that he was fired as daughter Beyonce's manager because he embezzled money from her. Knowles was fired earlier this year, a move that Bey at the time said was necessary for her to make a complete artistic change and for her to grow and evolve. She also said that it was a professional move, not a personal one, However, rumors quickly began surfacing that he was fired because he was caught pocketing money.

According to Billboard, via The Associated Press, Knowles is claiming that other people close to the 'Best Thing I Never Had' singer are working to ruin his relationship with his offspring and to destroy his reputation (he also manages gospel acts). Knowles alleges that people at Columbia, Beyonce's label, at Live Nation and at Roc Nation, which is run by her husband Jay-Z, are trying to poison Mathew Knowles' relationship with his daughter. Knowles has been managing Beyonce sincer her teen years -- through her breakthrough as a member of Destiny's Child and most of her megawatt solo career.

"I have absolutely have not taken any money from Beyonce, and all dollars will be accounted for," Knowles told The Associated Press in an interview last week. "In no way have we stole money. Again, this about the people who have made these claims -- they have to come into the light."

Knowles also confirmed that his relationship with the singer is "extremely amicable. I want to make that clear. Where there's concern is the people that she's doing business with. I'm challenging all of these folks on integrity, professional integrity."

He also noted that his firing was a casualty of Beyonce wiping the slate clean and completely starting over when it came to her staff. "She changed almost every aspect of her business," Knowles said.

Papa Knowles also said that he has yet to converse with Beyonce about the allegations that he jacked money from her -- remember, Beyonce is not just a successful singer, but she also has a L'Oreal contract, a film career and her own fashion line, House of Dereon, which means that she has multiple revenue streams -- but he did acknowledge that the courts may be the only way to suss this out and to prove his innocence. He said he once told the singer that "the only way we will be able to understand this is through a court of law. That's the only way either one of us will be clear if someone in our camps did something that was not correct." He also said that they have not spoken since he was dismissed in March, which certainly changes the complexion of the situation. The fact that father and daughter have not spoken in nearly four months speaks volumes to how Beyonce may feel about the matter.

Whatever the case, this situation does not sound pretty for the Knowles family.
