Meghan Trainor Can’t Buy Expensive Things Yet

You would think that a song like Meghan Trainor's 'All About That Bass' -- one so successful it spawned a million parodies -- would have afforded her quite a bit of cash at this point in time. The only way to avoid it on the radio last summer was to set your radio on fire. But according to an interview Meghan did with the Daily Star, she's totally broke. Well, kind of.

She said (quotes via Sugarscape), "I haven't made any money yet. They say I will get a big fat check after nine months which will be in April so I'm hoping that's right. People think I must be rich, but I'm not. I haven't been able to make a big purchase yet, but I'm working on it."

Yikes. What's the point!? We clearly have no idea how the business side of the music industry works, so maybe this is commonplace for people with hit singles. Maybe she should call up her BFF Harry Styles and ask him what the deal is.
