Miley Cyrus has taken time out of her busy schedule of twerking and not addressing the rumors of her split with fiancé Liam Hemsworth to take aim at the horse-drawn carriage business. The singer/actress issued a tweet to support a petition that is being launched to ban horse-drawn carriages in NYC, which we might add is not the city in which Cyrus resides. Her support of said petition has irked carriage owners and operators, since she is trying to stop them from earning a living.

Tommy Doyle, a member of the Board of Directors for Carriage Operators of North America, was adamant that there is no abuse of the horses that provide the carriage rides, and that the animals are "properly tended to" and "very well taken care of," according TMZ.

Doyle sees Cyrus' protest as ill-informed, if even informed at all. He said, "How many times has Miley spent with working horses? Does she even know what a healthy horse looks like? Has she been in the barn to see these animals?"

He has also extended an invite for the former teen queen to come see the horses up close and personal and learn about how they are treated. Whether or not she will take them up on that offer remains to be seen.
