Miley Cyrus finally broke her silence on Liam Hemsworth!

The singer stopped by 'The Ellen Show' to chat about 'BANGERZ,' twerking and her breakup from the Aussie actor.

Miley seemed in good spirits as she joked that Ellen wants her money back for the engagement party the host threw her. She got serious, however, when Ellen asked if it was awkward to be promoting the album without Liam by her side.

"It's not really awkward because I'm living it and I think people spend more time actually thinking about it than I really do," Miley said. "Because I just believe when a chapter is done, you have to close it and start that new one and that's kind of where I am right now. I felt like I have so much to be thankful for at this time, that my energy hasn't really been focused on that."

The singer added that this is the happiest she's ever been -- and no, that's not a dig at Liam.

"Sometimes it takes separating yourself to be really happy with who you are," Miley said.

As far as song inspiration goes, it looks like Miley might be pulling a Taylor Swift! She admitted that her whole album is a story of her personal life. Analyze away, Smilers!

Ellen also asked Miley about her infamous VMAs performance, including Robin Thicke's participation in the twerk-heavy show.

"No one cares about the man behind the booty," Miley laughed. "They only care about the one that's shaking it!"

The 'Wrecking Ball' singer clarified that the VMA performance was intended to be funny, but also provocative. She admitted that she doesn't understand where the shock comes from, especially in comparison to any of the other performances that night.

"This is a time in the year where it really brings it back, focused on music and that's what it was supposed to be," Miley said. "It was supposed to be celebrating music videos and that was basically my music video."
