Does NBC Want Miley Cyrus to Star in Their Live ‘Peter Pan’ Musical?

Hot off the success of Carrie Underwood‘s live version of ‘The Sound of Music,’ NBC has announced plans that their next live musical event will be ‘Peter Pan.’ But could they really be eyeing Miley Cyrus to play the lead role?

“I want Miley Cyrus [for the role of Peter Pan],” NBC’s head of entertainment seemingly joked to the press.

We say “seemingly” because it was probably meant tongue-in-cheek, but it’s not like it wouldn’t pull in ratings. Also, it’s not like the role of Peter Pan hasn’t been played by a woman with a pixie cut before. In fact, Peter Pan is traditionally performed by a woman in stage productions.

Should we start petitioning now to make this happen? Good, then it’s agreed.

‘Peter Pan Live!’ will air next holiday season, Dec. 4, 2014 on NBC.
