In what sounds like the perfect combination for an upcoming tour, Cobra Starship and Neon Trees headlined a recent show (Aug. 19) at Six Flags New England in Agawam, Mass. as part of the park’s summer concert series hosted by KC 101.3 FM in Connecticut.

Not currently on tour, Cobra Starship made a special appearance bringing their high energy dance party to the stage. Frontman Gabe Saporta pogo-ed his way from one side of the stage to the other, before landing in the crowd for the last song of their set; the rest of the band delighted the crowd from the first note of the keytar to the last.

With such a short set, they powered through hit after hit making for a party-like atmosphere for the all-age crowd -- playing everything from their latest single '#1 Nite (One Night)' to 'Good Girls Go Bad' and the tune they recorded with rapper Mac Miller 'Middle Finger.' Although Cobra Starship has gained a more mainstream following after the release of their last two albums, their faithful fans were among the masses that turned up for the show with their ‘Fangs Up’ and in the air throughout.

Neon Trees took to the stage as the sun was starting to set. Tyler Glenn owned the show from the word go, proving what a powerful frontman he’s evolved into throughout the band’s short career. He said little to the audience between songs but making it count when he did, letting the music speak for itself.

The band’s latest disc ‘Picture Show’ has spawned the smash hit single ‘Everybody Talks’ and the live performance of the tune was definitely a highlight. Song’s like 'Trust,' 'Animal,' '1983' and 'Your Surrender' rounded out a well-balanced set full of raw emotion from the band.

It should be noted, with a few changes throughout the set, Glenn’s wardrobe provided a show of its very own from fluorescent orange and silver jackets to his purple metallic Doc Martins.
