Nick Jonas Featured in New ‘Smash’ Promo
Ready to get your first look at Nick Jonas in NBC’s new series ‘Smash‘? Thanks to the network’s new Super Bowl promo for the show, we can give you what you’re looking for.
Jonas will guest star on the show as Lyle West, a character described as “a hot sitcom star who started his career as a child actor on Broadway.” He’ll mix it up with the ‘Smash’ stars, including Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty, as their characters attempt to claw their way into the opening night lineup of a musical about Marilyn Monroe.
Hilty, out doing the promotional rounds for the series premiere of ‘Smash’ tonight (Feb. 6), has been quick to credit TV’s other musical hits for making her show possible — including, of course, ‘Glee.’
“Thank God for ‘Glee,’ because they really opened doors for our show, specifically, to make it possible for us to do this,” Hilty said during a recent interview with Aceshowbiz. “They made it socially acceptable and even cool to love the arts, and hopefully our show will do the same, but they really were the people who started that and busted down those doors, so thank God for that.”
In the show, Hilty’s character competes with McPhee’s for the starring role in the Marilyn musical — and in real life, we’d have to give the edge to Hilty, a Broadway vet whose credits include a stint as Glinda in ‘Wicked.’ Anything can happen on TV, though.
