Are One Direction actually going on hiatus or not? Since Niall Horan first confirmed the news over the summer, we've seen the boys share hugs and bid an emotional farewell at the end of their last show on their On the Road Tour three weeks ago. Liam Payne has also directly responded to questions about the band's hiatus, noting how the time off will be both strange and exciting.

But luckily for us all, they're not going anywhere just yet. The boys will play a huge show later this year — the 2016 edition of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, hosted by Ryan Seacrest!

Billboard reported the exciting news early Wednesday morning, noting that the band will return as the headliners of the Billboard Hollywood Party in Los Angeles. The party itself will be hosted be Fergie, according to Billboard, and will be featured as part of the West Coast segment of the December 31 worldwide broadcast surrounding the ball drop in New York's Time's Square.

The band issued a statement about their involvement in the event, saying "It's been an incredible year for us and we can't wait to ring in the New Year with all our fans on New Year's Rockin' Eve. It's an honor to be back at the Billboard Hollywood Party for our second year."

One Direction has most definitely had an incredible back half of the year, with the release of their Made in the A.M. album and their On the Road Again Tour safely completed and highly attended. The New Year's Eve show will be the perfect pre-hiatus cherry on top, don't you think?

See One Direction's Transformation Throughout the Years
