The boys of One Direction gave Directioners an early Christmas present last night by appearing as the musical guests for the last episode of 'Saturday Night Live' in 2014.

But before singing their hearts out to promote their latest album, 'Four,' Niall, Liam, Louis, Zayn and Harry flexed their funny bones and appeared in a skit titled 'Girlfriends Talk Show' starring 'SNL' cast members Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong and the show's host for the evening, actress Amy Adams. The boys portrayed male members of a high school dance squad who show up much to Bryant's embarrassment.

For their first musical performance, the guys appeared on stage wearing all black to perform the ballad 'Night Changes.' Niall strummed his guitar and sang with his bandmates under dim lights on stage. 'Night Changes' is the second single off 'Four' and is continuing to climb the charts.

Next, One Direction performed 'Ready to Run,' which was released as a promotional single before 'Four' came out. Does this mean it will be the next single off 'Four'? Based on the adoring cheers from the female fans in the audience, we're confident that it very well could be another hit, too.
