Phillip Phillips Returns to ‘American Idol’ to Perform ‘Gone Gone Gone’

It’s hard to believe that a year has gone (gone, gone) by since Phillip Phillips was strapping on his guitar every week, singing in a raspy voice and competing with belters on Season 11 of ‘American Idol.’ The singer and winner of Season 11 returned to the stage tonight (March 14) to perform his new single ‘Gone Gone Gone.’

It was a solid performance, as Phillips is a seasoned pro and one of the most successful winners in the show’s history at this point. He did his cute little foot shuffle while playing and singing, sported a scruffy beard and looked a little sweaty under the hot stage lights. Still, his perf was still excellent, warm and inviting.

Post-performance, Randy Jackson handed Phillips a plaque commemorating the quadruple platinum status of his debut single ‘Home.’ See what we mean by one of the most successful ‘Idol’ alums of all time? Congrats, Phillip!
