While in Chicago this weekend for the American Idols Live tour, reigning 'Idol' champ Scotty McCreery made a detour to legendary Wrigley Field on Friday to sing 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game' at a Chicago Cubs baseball game.

Wrigley has one of the most exciting 7th inning stretches in baseball, with celebrities regularly showing up to lead the crowd in a sing-along. McCreery's deep, booming voice made him a big improvement over many of the tv and movie actors who often perform the task.

In an interview after the song, the 17-year-old mentioned that he had no problem remembering the words because he played baseball in high school. When asked how singing at Wrigley compared to 'Idol,' he responded, "This is a lot bigger stage. This is a lot of fun. 'Idol' can be stressful, but this is all just fun right here."

McCreery continues on the Idols Live tour into next month with the rest of the big names from Season 10. The video for his first single 'I Love You This Big' premieres tomorrow, and he continues to record his still-untitled debut album.
