Selena Gomez has stayed pretty quiet since her mom's miscarriage two weeks ago, undoubtedly giving herself -- and her family -- some time to grieve over the loss of the baby, who they apparently had planned to name Scarlett. On Monday, Gomez reached out to her fanbase to wish them all a happy holidays and thank them for being so thoughtful during her time of need.

The statement posted to Gomez's Facebook page reads:

Belated Merry Christmas everybody.. I can't thank you enough for all of your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate every one of you.. I love you all so much and we hope you and your family had a beautiful Christmas!
Love,
Me, Momma, Brian and our guardian angel Scarlett.
God bless

The 'Who Says' songstress was forced to cancel her California Christmas concert a few weekends ago due to a "family emergency," though rumors all but solidified that Gomez's mother Mandy had suffered a devastating miscarriage. Selena announced her mom's pregnancy back in November, telling her fans, "My mommys carrying my baby brother or sister : ) I’m the happiest girl in the world!”

Naturally, Selena's boyfriend Justin Bieber was by her side during the tough ordeal, and her longtime good friend Demi Lovato wanted to be there, too, tweeting to Gomez that she loves her without giving away any details.

Gomez is scheduled to appear on MTV's New Year's Eve Special this weekend, and though she has not yet canceled the event, she has not confirmed following the tragedy whether or not she'll still be making an appearance.
