Country-pop singer Carrie Underwood has been making hits and racking up awards ever since winning the fourth season of ‘American Idol’ in 2005. Born in 1983, she grew up in the tiny town of Checotah, Okla., and started singing in church at the age of 3. Carrie tried out for ‘Idol’ while a senior in college, dominating the competition with her powerful voice, good looks and sweet personality. Her winning single, ‘Inside Your Heaven,’ hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and a star was born. Debut album ‘Some Hearts,’ featuring hit single ‘Jesus Take the Wheel,’ started a platinum streak that continues still. Underwood married Nashville Predators hockey player Mike Fisher in July 2010. In September 2014, the couple announced they are expecting their first child.
