Taylor Swift brought yet more girl power to the stage of L.A.'s Staples Center yesterday (Aug. 20), inviting indie pop duo Tegan and Sara to perform with her the night after being joined on the venue's stage by special guests Sara Bareilles and Cher Lloyd.

Tegan and Sara joined Taylor onstage to perform 'Closer,' the first single off their latest album, 'Heartthrob.' T. Swizzle joined in energetically, dancing playfully and taking over lead vocals for a verse. She even played cheerleader, getting the sold-out crowd jumping along with her to the upbeat tune.

Her introduction for the pair was equally enthusiastic. "I really, really love this artist's music," she told the audience. "I think that this album is one of my favorites of all time. If you've ever had your heart broken, you need to have their album."

Tegan and Sara, who have been busy opening for fun. on their ongoing summer tour, also got the chance to be special surprise guests earlier this month, joining Macklemore and Ryan Lewis onstage for an inspired version of 'Same Love.'

Meanwhile, Taylor was honored by the Staples Center yesterday for having a career-total 11 sell-out shows at the arena. She was given a commemorative plaque and inscribed silver wrist cuff to mark the occasion. Her epic Red tour rolls on next week in Sacramento, Calif., after a short break for the MTV Video Music Awards.
