Tyler, the Creator Claims He’ll Be Dead By 40
Forget growing old gracefully - outspoken Odd Future frontman Tyler, the Creator says he'll be dead within 20 years.
"I'll be dead [by the time I'm 40]," the 20-year-old claims in a new interview. "Either an obsessed fan or a heroin overdose. I'll probably get into that at 24."
While we assume he's joking about the heroin part, the rapper's statements tend to range from witty to controversial when he speaks his mind. He has engaged in wars of words with B.o.B and Chris Brown on Twitter and through his songs.
In the interview, Tyler also talks about his latest Twitter battle, when some observers thought he was defending the killers in the Columbine High School massacre of 1999.
"I got into an argument because I said the Columbine [shooters] were probably really cool people," he says. "I was just saying they could have been really nice people, probably could have taken them to a game. I wasn't saying what they did was right."
Tyler and his bandmates in Odd Future are touring Europe and Japan this summer, with a couple of US dates thrown in, including an appearance at Chicago's Pitchfork Music Festival.
