The death of Beastie Boys rapper Adam 'MCA' Yauch has deeply affected the hip-hop community but no more so than the group's founding members. Adam 'Ad-Rock' Horovitz went on the band's Tumblr page to eulogize his late friend and give thanks to their adorning fans.

Accompanying the post was a photo of Ad-Rock's fist and the words "PWR2MCA" and "I ♥ U" scrawled on it. The heartfelt photograph symbolizes the love that everyone had for MCA. Under the picture, Ad-Rock wrote

"As you can imagine, s--- is just fkd up right now," he wrote on his blog. "But I wanna say thank you to all our friends and family (which are kinda one in the same) for all the love and support. I’m glad to know that all the love that Yauch has put out into the world is coming right back at him."

Mr. Yauch, who passed away on May 4 after a three-year battle with cancer, was honored by many artists this past weekend. Coldplay paid tribute to the beloved Beastie with a rendition of 'Fight for Your Right to Party' and the Red Hot Chili Peppers performed 'So What'cha Want' as a long instrumental jam.

Yauch’s mother, Frances Yauch, told the New York Times that her late son remained constantly positive until the day that he died. "He was a very courageous person,” she said. "He was hopeful to the very end."

We send our condolences out to the Yauch's family and to the remaining Beastie Boys. May Yauch rest in eternal peace.
