Birdman and Young Thug have reportedly been named in an indictment as co-conspirators involved in a plot to kill Lil Wayne.

According to a report from WSB-TV, an indictment alleges that Young Thug and Birdman enlisted shooting suspect Jimmy Carlton Winfrey to carry out a murder plot against the "Lollipop" rapper. The Atlanta Journal Constitution claims Winfrey committed the shooting in order to "gain street cred" with his fellow Blood Gang members, of which Young Thug, Birdman, Winfrey and Lil Wayne are also reportedly a part.

Back in April, Winfrey allegedly fired shots at Lil Wayne's tour bus, though a possible motivation was unclear at the time. The indictment explains what happened in detail, saying (via WSB-TV), "After Atlanta Police discontinued their escort, (Winfrey) and fellow Blood Gang members entered Interstate 285 from Atlanta Road in Cobb County in pursuit of the buses occupied by (Lil Wayne’s) group. (That’s when) the white sports car pulled beside the buses, shots were then fired into the buses from the sports car with a .40 caliber handgun and a 9mm handgun.”

Winfrey was arrested on June 2 and charged with terroristic threats, possession of a firearm by a felon, aggravated assault and criminal gang activity in relation to the shooting.

Young Thug and Birdman have reportedly not been charged, but were named as working with Winfrey. Meanwhile, Young Thug was arrested earlier this morning (July 16) in connection with an unrelated incident in which he threatened to shoot a mall security guard in the face.

The alleged murder plot reportedly stems from a feud between former close friends Lil Wayne and Birdman, who had a public falling out that culminated in Wayne's suing of Cash Money Records in order to break his contract. He claimed Birdman and the label withheld millions of dollars from him after they delayed the release of his album Tha Carter V indefinitely.
