This has not been a good week for Bono. The U2 singer is currently in need of surgery due to an injury he suffered after falling off his bike in Central Park yesterday (Nov. 16).

An official statement on U2’s website indicates they have no choice but to cancel their weeklong residency on 'The Tonight Show' as Bono’s injury makes him unable to perform. The statement reads as follows:

"It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time - we're one man down. Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We're sure he'll make a full recovery soon, so we'll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding.”

The injury comes days after what could have led to a fatal accident during a flight Bono was taking over Germany. According to the Independent, the plane’s rear compartment detached completely, causing Bono's and the other passengers’ luggage to fall out of the plane.

We wish Bono a speedy recovery, and hope this ends his string of misfortune.
