Christina Grimmie’s Powerful ‘Invisible’ Video Drops on Late Singer’s 23rd Birthday
Christina Grimmie was hardly invisible on what would have been her 23rd birthday — the late singer's parents honored her yesterday (March 12) with a video accompaniment to her latest single, in which Grimmie is an unstoppable superhero.
Grimmie, who was killed by a manic fan at a meet and greet in June 2016, posthumously made her major label debut in February with "Invisible," a hyped-up, powerful EDM track that was noticeably more aggressive than previous work. And the video, which finds Grimmie's cartoon alter-ego squaring off against a nightmarish demon, matches the cinematic appeal.
"We created this video as a special tribute to honor that love and her desire to always bring light and love into the heart of others," Grimmie's family wrote alongside the video.
And fans, who remembered Grimmie as an avid video game fan, commented that the tribute was fitting and something Grimmie, herself, would have loved.
"Happy Birthday Christina! You will be missed but never in a million years will you be forgotten," one wrote while another noted "Beautiful tribute. She would love it as much as we do."
