When Demi Lovato wasn't busy judging on 'X Factor' and doing her best fembot impression in 2012, she managed to squeeze in time to work on the follow-up to 2011's 'Unbroken,' the LP that marked her triumphant return to the music scene after some very public personal struggles.

Her 2013 full-length has not been titled yet, nor has a release date been announced, but her first single is rumored to be titled 'Pieces of a Heart.' The song may or may not premiere on MTV on Feb. 13, just a heads up.

We do know for sure that Demi's new album will feature some upbeat dance tracks, as she tweeted, "Rang in the New Year last night in Mexico having a dance party to my new music with my best friends.. I'd say that's a pretty awesome NYE."

Additionally, don't be surprised if Lovato's new album goes in a more retro direction, with no help from these fancy, newfangled studio tricks. She told US Weekly "There’s going to be some fun, lighthearted songs with kind of a throwback sound." Sign us up!
