
Keith Urban Teases Something ‘Extra Smooth': Is New Music Coming?
Is Keith Urban's yacht rock project upon us?
The singer teased what appears to be a new music announcement on Wednesday (April 22), along with a video of him walking through the surf of a beach as a guitar strums in the background.
The caption hints that water and the ocean could be big themes for what he's got in store.
Keith Urban Teases New Music: What Did He Say?
"Next week we all set sail," Urban wrote in the caption of his post. "Don't be late to the dock."
The singer also pinned next Wednesday (April 29) as a big day for whatever it is he's got cooking.
"Oh, and by the way, something extra smooth is coming to Nashville one week from today," he wrote. "Clear your calendars. Don't say I didn't warn you."
What Has Keith Urban Said About His Next Album?
Urban turned heads last month when he teased that his next musical chapter will be a hard pivot from the guitar-forward pop-country hits he's typically known for releasing.

During a performance at the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville in March, Urban said he was working on an album of "yacht rock songs" that are mostly covers, with just one original song on the project.
"You think I'm kidding? I'm not kidding," he told the crowd.
The new music he's teasing now seems to have similar themes. Urban's hints about water and sailing would make sense for a yacht rock project, which leans into the smooth, laid-back and water-centric sounds of the '70s and '80s subgenre.
Keith Urban's New Music Will Be His First Since His Nicole Kidman Divorce
Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman split in 2025 and finalized their divorce in January, after 19 years of marriage.
Since then, he's reportedly been focusing on music. Russell Dickerson, who opened for Urban at C2C in March, said the singer is in "good spirits" and seems to be "doing great" in the wake of his breakup.
"He's always...focused on music, so I think he's just doubling down on that, and it's beautiful," Dickerson told Page Six.
