Reba McEntire Is Going to Be a Grandma — Shelby + Marissa Blackstock Expecting First Child
Reba McEntire is going to be a grandma.
Her son, Shelby Blackstock, and his wife, Marissa, announced they’re expecting their first child together, sharing the news in a heartfelt social media post.
“Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October,” they wrote on Instagram.
“See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you!” the happy couple added.
A Full-Circle Moment
The exciting update comes after a deeply emotional journey for the couple, who have been open about their struggles to start a family.

Back in December, Marissa shared that they had experienced a pregnancy loss just days after finding out they were expecting for the first time.
“Our little boy… he arrived the day after my dad passed,” she wrote at the time, recalling the moment she saw “two pink lines on Thanksgiving morning” after three years of trying.
A Difficult Chapter
That moment of joy quickly turned into heartbreak, as doctors later confirmed the pregnancy had ended.
The loss came during an already heavy season for Marissa, who also lost her father and brother-in-law, Brandon Blackstock, within the same year.

Even so, she said the experience gave her something to hold onto, writing, “He showed me that my body can do this. That hope isn’t gone.”
Holding Onto Hope
Shelby and Marissa, who married in 2022, have been open about their fertility journey, including turning to medicated cycles after trying to conceive naturally.
At the time, Marissa made it clear she wasn’t giving up on becoming a mother. “I’m not ready to set this dream down,” she wrote. “Not now, not ever.”
A New Chapter
Now, that hope is becoming something real.
The couple’s announcement marks a new chapter for their growing family — and an exciting one for Reba, who is about to step into a brand-new role as a grandmother.
