Jelly Roll Reveals Zach Top’s Secret Talent: He’s a ‘Hoopster’!

Over the past couple of years, Zach Top has lit up the charts as well as people's faces with his traditional, '90s country sound.

But what's he really like offstage? Jelly Roll dished on the man behind the mic during a recent interview on Country Countdown USA..

For example, most fans know that Top looks like Alan Jackson and is always dressed in his country finest. But did you know that he rocks a very different look offstage, and dresses in basketball shorts and sneakers? Jelly told Country Countdown host Lon Helton that Top is quite the basketball player.

Jelly Roll Says 'Zach Top is a Hoopster'

"He can play basketball. He’s a hoopster," Jelly relates. "I want that as the headline that comes out of this interview. Zach Top is a hoopster. He has real skills. He played in high school, and was apparently pretty good."

One look at the above video and you can instantly tell that Top is indeed a hoopster. A left-handed one at that — even though he plays guitar right handed.

He steps to the free throw line and lands two free throws, all with a cigarette tucked behind his ear.

Jelly Roll continued gushing over Top's balling skills, saying "I wish we had a Nashville basketball league, and a country music classic, I’d love to put one together. A charity basketball game. Zach Top is first round draft pick."
