Marc Anthony is beefing up his television resume. The 41-year-old singer has been named the executive music producer of TNT's medical drama 'HawthoRNe,' in which he stars as Nick Renata.

According to Billboard, the Grammy winner has been hired to create the "signature" sound of the hit cable series, which follows passionate Chief Nursing Officer Christina Hawthorne, played by Jada Pinkett Smith, as she tries to manage a struggling hospital.

"We compose from scratch and write pieces and incorporate them into the show during pivotal moments," Anthony tells the magazine. "Certain characters and situations have a certain sound."

The third season of 'HawthoRNe' kicks off on June 14 and will include theme music composed by Anthony and creative partner Julio Reyes. In July, while the show is in full swing, Anthony will launch his talent search for his other TV series, 'Q'Viva! The Chosen,' in which he and wife Jennifer Lopez will comb Latin America for the next big music star.

The singer's summer schedule is jam-packed, but he says it's worth all of the long hours and hard work. "I am thoroughly enthused," Anthony says. "I'm feeling more alive than ever."
