JC Chasez can sing, dance and, apparently, save lives. The former 'N Sync member became the hero of the day when he spared a baby from harm in Miami Beach on Jan. 1.

According to the New York Post, a helicopter flew dangerously close to the beach in front of the Fontainebleau hotel. It was so close to the ground that its propeller caused umbrellas and sand to fly up. As one parasol was tumbling directly toward a baby stroller, Chasez grabbed the umbrella before it could come into contact with a 1-year-old girl.

Hotel reps confirmed Chasez's actions and locals reported that the singer was “sweet and humble” about his courageous efforts. What a guy! The pop star and 'America's Best Dance Crew' judge was in Miami to ring in the New Year held at the Fontainebleau. Vanessa Hudgens, Austin Butler, Lucas Grabeel and Maria Menounos were also reportedly in attendance.

2012 will undoubtedly be a good year for the star (hello, karma), but 'N Sync fans shouldn't hold their breath for a reunion. The singer recently squashed the notion of a boy-band revival, saying, “No, we’re all done with that, completely done."
