Rick Ross returned to his alma mater Carol City High School in Miami on May 16 to give a speech on the values of getting a good education. The Maybach Music Group honcho, who graduated from Carol City in 1994, was also treated to a pep rally during the assembly and was given an honorary school football jersey.

At the podium, Rozay offered some encouraging words to the students who were excited to see the rapper. "This is my first time being in Carol City, since I graduated from Carol City, make some noise for the chief," he said. "I'm only here for one reason, I wanted to come home and let y'all know you only have one life to live. I want y'all to understand that dreams do come true."

"I need you to understand that it takes hard work and dedication to achieve anything that is in your heart," he continues. "When I was sitting in [class] there's no way you could have told me I would be where I am today. But I believe in myself and I pushed myself."

In addition, Ross donated Reebok sneakers (with the help of brand ambassdor Swizz Beatz) to every teen in the school as well as iPads so students can fill out college applications. "We commend Rick Ross for giving back to Miami Carol City Senior High School," said Principal Mr. Dunn to Exclusive Access. "By doing so, he is setting a wonderful example for our students and community."

It's always good to see rappers give back to their communities. Bawse!
