A steamy tabloid story involving Robin Thicke and Paula Patton has the 'Blurred Lines' singer threatening legal action over what he claims is a "false story."

Thicke and Patton announced their separation in February, which immediately ignited speculation as to why the duo decided to split after eight years. While Thicke in the past has been the subject of a few cheating rumors, a salacious story that was printed in Star Magazine yesterday has Thicke livid as it involves not only him, but Patton as well, and he's looking to stop the rumors to protect their reputation.

Star Magazine reported that for two years, Thicke and Patton allegedly carried on a consensual three-way relationship with a massage therapist. The breaking point in the relationship, however, was when Patton supposedly walked in on Thicke and the masseuse engaging in an affair together without her and literally caught Thicke "with his pants down."

Now, Page Six reports that Howard E. King, a lawyer for Thicke, has filed the following letter to Star Magazine demanding a retraction.

“On behalf of Mr. Thicke, as well as [the alleged masseuse], we categorically deny every assertion of fact posited in your email [asking for comment] and are certain there can be no reliable, trustworthy source of any such story, given its gross deviation from the truth. Any purported source of such a story is lying.”

"Publication of this blatantly false story absent a failure to fully investigate the truth combined with reliance on what has to be a flimsy source, will support a finding that the story is published in wanton and reckless disregard of the truth, leading to a finding of malice and the imposition of actual and punitive damages.”

In the weeks after the separation, it was reported that Thicke was actively trying to win Patton back, even going as far as dedicating songs to her while on tour.
