Is Robyn Putting Out a New Album This Year?
It's been quite a while since Robyn released Body Talk. Seven years, two months and 27 days, to be exact, but who's counting?
Earlier this month, the Swedish pop star tweeted "Thinking about space, if its public space. Who decides what gets to be in public space?" A restless fan responded with, "Who decides your next album release date tbh." Robyn gave said fan (and fans everywhere) a little good news when she tweeted back, "I do. Some time this year honey."
The last bit of new music we got from the "Call Your Girlfriend" singer was last year, when she debuted a new song, "Honey," on HBO's Girls. But that's not to say the singer hasn't been busy.
In 2015, Robyn announced a new project, La Bagatelle Magique — a collaborative effort between her, keyboardist Markus Jägerstedt and the late producer Christian Falk — and released an EP called Love is Free in August of that year. She also hit the festival circuit in 2016, playing the likes of Boston Calling and Governors Ball. But fans are itching for a new album, and it looks like the Scandinavian hitmaker is going to deliver sooner rather than later.
