In a recent podcast, T.I. revealed that he has his daughter partake in an annual "virginity test" by going to the gynecologist with her to check if her hymen is still intact.

T.I. revealed the revelation during an interview with on Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham's on the Ladies Like Us podcast. When the podcast hosts brought up the subject of having the infamous "sex talk" with his daughters, the rapper shared his decision to go to the gynecologist with his eldest daughter, 18-year-old Deyjah Harris.

"Not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen," the rapper said. He even confirmed that he personally goes with her to the appointments, which first started after her sixteenth birthday, when he left her a sticky note on her bedroom door that read, "Gyno. Tomorrow. 9:30."

"So we’ll go and sit down and the doctor comes and talk, and the doctor’s maintaining a high level of professionalism," he continued. "He’s like, ‘You know, sir, I have to, in order to share information’ — I’m like, 'Deyjah, they want you to sign this so we can share information. Is there anything you would not want me to know? See, Doc? Ain't no problem.'"

Checking that the hymen is intact has no medical benefit and is an invasive procedure that can have a deep psychological impact on women. Though the proclaimed "virginity test" has no actual scientific basis and The World Health Organization denounces the test, T.I. still takes his daughter to the gynecologist to make sure that her hymen is still intact, every year.

Although T.I. knows that a woman's hymen can tear or rip from any physical activity that isn't sexual, he still believes in the method.

"And so then they come and say, ‘Well, I just want you to know that there are other ways besides sex that the hymen can be broken like bike riding, athletics, horseback riding, and just other forms of athletic physical activity,'" he said. "So I say, ‘Look, Doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports. Just check the hymen, please, and give me back my results expeditiously.'"

T.I. revealed that as of his daughter's eighteenth birthday, her hymen is still intact.

After the interview was released, Harris herself favorited tweets denouncing her father's annual appointment for her.

Almost all of the fan reactions about T.I.'s decision have been negative. See the social media backlash, below.
