The 2014 PopCrush Fan Choice Awards have arrived, giving you the chance to choose the year's best in a variety of categories. And here's biggest honor of them all, Artist of the Year! Will the winning choice be based on album sales, social impact, other awards, or something else entirely? It's up to you to say! Here, we take a look at our nominees for Artist of the Year.

One Direction kept their career going in just one direction: Up. The British boy band owned both the charts and Directioners' hearts with music, movies, concerts and general adorableness. They might not dance, but they did release the 'Best Song Ever'!

Justin Bieber, on the other hand, embraced R&B in the form of his #MusicMondays tracks. He also continued his work with Make-A-Wish Foundation, toured around the world to promote 'Believe' and released his second documentary of the same name.

It was the year that Miley Cyrus took a wrecking ball to her old Hannah Montana image, pretty much owning the national pop-culture conversation after that eye-popping VMAs performance. Thanks to Miley, even our grandparents know what twerking is. We will never look at foam fingers, sledgehammers -- or Miley -- in the same way as before.

Even by Taylor Swift's incredibly high standards, she had an incredible year. If there was an award, she won it. Her musical heroes not only worked with her, they applauded her. Tay toured the world as a headliner and made gossip headlines wherever she roamed. And no other artist can claim this credit: singing 'Livin' on a Prayer' with the future king of England!

If Beyonce isn't the best, you can't say she didn't give it her best shot. When you start the year knocking the power out at the Super Bowl, how do you top it at year's end? Oh, just by dropping a hush-hush album of 14 songs and 17 videos that ends up topping charts and breaking records.

Or did the year belong to one of these artists? Music powerhouses Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga all graced us with new albums and amazing performances. Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, Demi Lovato, the Wanted, Big Time Rush, Bruno Mars and Robin Thicke all had amazing career highlights in the past 12 months. Newcomers Ariana Grande, Austin Mahone, Macklemore + Ryan Lewis, and Lorde all made their marks on the music scene.

So, what do you think PopCrushers? Who has earned the top award of Artist of the Year? Cast your vote for the year's best below. The poll closes on Tuesday, February 11 at 10AM ET.
