So far this year, there have been lots of veteran pop stars who are still managing to make waves with their music-driven endeavors, while a small batch of newcomers have also seen massive success as their careers jumpstart in 2012. Who do you think is the biggest pop star of 2012? We've come up with a (pretty large) list of pop stars for you to vote on as this year's "It" act, from 'Call Me Maybe' songstress Carly Rae Jepsen to new 'X Factor' judge Britney Spears and everyone in between.

There are lots of artists who are eligible for the title of 'Biggest Pop Star of 2012.' Since this readers poll would end up turning into a novel if we listed of all of their accomplishment, here's a brief rundown of who's in on the list. Of course, we had to include 'Starships' hitmaker Nicki Minaj and Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga, who fans continue to gravitate towards thanks to their outrageous antics and singalong tunes. The same goes for LMFAOKaty Perry, Rihanna and Kesha, the latter of which has an album due out later this year.

There has also been a resurgence of boy bands in 2012 thanks to groups like One Direction and the Wanted, while teen stars like Justin Bieber and his GF Selena Gomez heat up the charts as solo artists. While we're on the topic of teen stars, Miley Cyrus might not have much going on in the music front (although she apparently has some new material in the works), but she's still been making headlines this year with her engagement and covers of Bob Dylan tunes. Additionally, Demi Lovato made a huge comeback in 2012 after a stint in rehab, releasing her popular 'Unbroken' LP and landing a gig as an 'X Factor' judge alongside Brit.

Meanwhile, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars (who has been working nonstop in the studio on his forthcoming LP) and Usher have been holding things down in the R&B/pop crossover front for the males, and the tireless and always amazing Beyonce has been repping the same front for the ladies. And while we're on the topic of all things amazing, Grammy-dominator Adele comes in our list for having one of the most hauntingly beautiful and powerful voices in pop today... not to mention several No. 1 hits.

But the list doesn't stop there. Pop icon and Super Bowl XLVI performer Madonna makes the cut, as does fellow vocal veteran Christina Aguilera. Xtina's 'Voice' co-coach Adam Levine and his band Maroon 5 are also on the list, as are Coldplay, who are arguably one of the biggest alt rock bands in the world right now. Jennifer Lopez also comes in for her hits like 'Dance Again' and her 'American Idol' gig, as do British reality singing competition judge Jessie J and 'Duets' mentor Kelly Clarkson, both of whom have had massive singles in 2012.

Finally, Taylor Swift is also on the list for her sold-out arena tour as well as hit singles and film ventures, as is Adam Lambert, whose album 'Trespassing' impacted the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 this year.
