Christina Aguilera pretty much proved to be the alpha dog among her three male co-coaches on the debut episode of NBC's singing competiton 'The Voice,' taking over the show at will and essentially controlling the debates about which singers should be on what team.

She didn't get every contestant she liked, but she ended up with three strong female singers: Tarralyn Ramsey, Beverly McClellen and former 'American Idol' contender Frenchie Davis. Ramsey was the first on stage, singing Faith Hill's 'Breath,' and Xtina (her texting name, we guess) was the first to hit the button that allowed her to turn around and see, instead of just hear, the performance. "At first I felt the nerves in your voice, but your confidence grew with every single note that came out of your mouth," she told the young singer, and just like that she had her first team member.

One of the bigger surprises of the night was the appearance of season two 'American Idol' singer Frenchie Davis, who was booted off that show when she admitted that she had posed for topless photos at age 19. As it turns out, Aguilera was the only one of the four judges who tried to recruit Davis and her energetic, throaty take on Katy Perry's 'I Kissed A Girl.' So, no debate there, and two singers set for Team Aguilera.

Despite sparring frequently over desired contestants, particularly with Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, Christina didn't get her third singer until the last segment of the show, when the bald, tattooed, pierced and way wound-up Beverly McClellen hit the stage with a caffeinated take on the old chestnut 'Piece of My Heart' by Janis Joplin. Again, it was Levine and Aguilera fighting for the same prize, but McClellen was won over by Aguilera's direct plea: "I want you on my team. You deserve it. You did an amazing job."

Unsurprisingly, given her success in many media outlets and the way she ran roughshod over her peers throughout the broadcast, Aguilera seems pretty confident about her chances going forward in 'The Voice': "My team kicks ass! Everybody better watch out!" We think the fellas may need to gang up on her a little bit if any of them want to get out of next week alive.
