Alex Clare – 2013 Coachella Must-See Artists

“And it feels like I am just too close to love you!” Those words initially caught listeners’ attention in an Internet Explorer commercial, before fans eventually located the full song on iTunes and began furiously downloading it.

The track, ‘Too Close’ by Alex Clare, rose up the charts for months before finally reaching No. 7 in the U.S. and earning a BRIT Award nomination for Best British Single.

Clare’s debut album, ‘The Lateness of the Hour,’ was co-produced by Major Lazer, providing him with some street cred and an edgier sound than you’d expect from most singer-songwriters. Clare has spent the past year touring like crazy, playing for fans around the world and proving that he’s more than just a one-hit wonder.

Clare said in a recent interview that he hopes to have his next album done by June, so perhaps he’ll treat Coachella attendees to early versions of some of the new songs. He performs on both Sundays of the festival, Apr. 14 and 21.
