‘Glee’ Cast, ‘Light Up the World’ – Song Review

We hate to be the ones to break it to you, but it's almost time for the season finale of 'Glee.' As Season 2 pulls to a close, New Directions are off to Nationals, and they're taking this new original song, 'Light Up the World,' with them.

Like one of the first original songs we got from the show, 'Loser Like Me,' 'Light Up the World' is catchy and upbeat, and gives each of our favorite cast members a chance at the mic. Though 'Light Up the World' is also a 'stand up and fight' anthem, it's lacking some luster. To be blunt, this one is kind of 'meh.'

The glee club gives the directions for taking on the world in the chorus:

"Let's light up the world tonight / You gotta give up the fun and fight / I know that we've got the love, all right / Come on and li-li-light it up, light it up tonight"

We're really crossing our fingers that this will be the only blah moment in the finale episode, and perhaps it will shine brighter when we can actually see Finn, Rachel and the gang bouncing around the stage and pumping up the crowd in New York -- through our goodbye tears, of course.

The 'Glee' Season 2 finale airs on May 24, but you can get your hands on 'Light Up the World' a little sooner, as it appears on 'Glee the Music: Volume 6,' which drops on May 23.
