Rachel finds a new life in New York City in the Season 4 premiere of 'Glee,' which features Kate Hudson's character Cassandra singing a Lady Gaga / Jennifer Lopez medley and Rachel dueting with a newcomer on 'New York State of Mind.'

Life isn't perfect for Rachel in the Big Apple. TV Line reports that she will end up in tears at one point. But she appreciates the city enough to sing Billy Joel's 'New York State of Mind' in a virtual duet with Marley (Melissa Benoist), who's back at McKinley High. Hudson makes her debut as Rachel's dance instructor and sings a medley of two dance songs, Gaga's 'Americano' and Lopez's 'Dance Again.'

Meanwhile, back in Ohio, Unique, Blaine, Brittany and Tina take advantage of Rachel's absence and put the spotlight on themselves when they enthusiastically perform Carly Rae Jepsen's 'Call Me Maybe.' Marley goes solo on Adele's tender 'Chasing Pavements,' while Puck's half-brother Jake takes on the Fray's 'Never Say Never.'

Finally, Blaine and Kurt share a tender moment when Blaine sings Imagine Dragons' 'It's Time,' presumably to give Kurt his blessing to move to New York.

'The New Rachel' airs following 'X Factor' at 9PM ET on FOX on Thursday, Sept. 13.
