You know, Lady Gaga has done (and worn) a lot of crazy things over the last few years. But this ain't one of them. The pop diva recently announced plans to use the egg from her recent Grammy performance as a bed in her New York City condominium.  Which, is good old fashioned thrifty re-purposing, and, very earth-friendly.

According to the UK's Daily Mirror, Gaga is spending nearly two million dollars to re-design her pad as a shrine to her performing career. Supposedly, she felt so comfortable onstage in the egg that she got the idea to make that her special bed for naps, of course. If you think about it, this is way more logical than spending countless amounts of money on outrageous outfits that can only be worn once.

The singer recently confessed to going to bed with her make-up still on, and bleaching her hair so much bleaching that its falling out, with parts damaged beyond repair. Maybe she'll take a break from bleaching and go back to her dark roots when she was Stephanie Germanotta.

Lady Gaga's second album, 'Born This Way,' hits stores on May 23. Read about how her title track from the album set digital sales records, or find out all about how she raised a quarter of a million dollars for Japan's earthquake victims by selling wristbands -- all from the safety of your own alien pod-bed.
