Following her myriad mishaps and subsequent backlash, Miley Cyrus has been under nonstop media scrutiny. However, Cyrus has a surprising defender -- country legend Dolly Parton, who calls Cyrus her "honorary goddaughter." Aww!

"I remember myself at her age. We’ve all been a bit too hard on her," Parton told Parade. "I hope she holds it together because there's a world of things she can do." Cyrus had a hard time holding it together when a fan called her a "a--hole" for refusing a photo, but that was probably the smallest scandal she's had as of late.

Much like her honorary godmother Parton, Cyrus even came under fire for her cup size after wearing a low-cut canary gown. Rumors of possible plastic surgery swirled but were quickly squashed. Cyrus tweeted, “Thank you for the compliment but these babies are all mine. I wish they’d realize you don’t have to be fake to be beautiful!”

Even bigger problems have plagued Cyrus than the speculation about her chest. Following a leaked video of the former 'Hannah Montana' starlet smoking cigarettes and then salvia out of a bong, Cyrus put her foot in her mouth once more when she was filmed calling herself a "stoner" on her birthday.

Although Parton thinks we should go a little easier on Cyrus, it seems as though she also thinks Cyrus should watch out for herself, too. Choosing her words carefully, Parton said of the 'Can't Be Tamed' singer, "She should keep an eye on things and make wise decisions."
