Robin Thicke

American-Canadian singer-songwriter Robin Thicke makes an unlikely soul man, but he’s been pursuing his R&B dreams since his early teens. Born in 1977 to actors Alan Thicke and Gloria Loring, Robin grew up surrounded by the L.A. entertainment industry. He recorded his first demo at 14 and signed his first record contract at 16. He began his professional music career working behind the scenes as a songwriter and producer for other artists, including Christina Aguilera and Mya, before seeking the spotlight for himself. The suave star hit paydirt with 2006’s ‘The Evolution of Robin Thicke,’ earning his first No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In 2013, his ‘Blurred Lines’ was not only the song of the summer, it was the top-selling single of the year. Thicke and Miley Cyrus’ raunchy rendition of the track at the MTV Video Music Awards dominated the pop-culture conversation for weeks afterwards.
