At the end of last year, we introduced you to Ariana + The Rose, a London-based, New York-bred synth-pop singer-songwriter on the rise and one of our favorite new PopCrush Presents acts.

We're checking back in with Ariana today, and this time, she's here with a live cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," recorded in a session for Viber Presents, which we're happy to premiere on PopCrush.

Kicking off initially as a chilly, synth-filled space-age rendition (not unlike the moody sound of Ariana's "Give Up The Ghost"), the performance soon blasts off with crashing drums and jagged licks of guitar, capturing the riotous spirit of the classic. Ariana's voice is also entirely on point throughout — especially as she really starts belting toward the end.

Viber Presents launched in 2014 as a dedicated new music program that lives within Viber as a Public Chat. Its goal is to feed new music conversations and content to over 500 million users globally. It allows Viber’s users to follow conversations, connect and engage with new music content and artists.

Watch Ariana's performance of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" above. Her debut EP, Survival of the Fittest, will be out early this year.
