Avril Lavigne and Miley Cyrus paid tribute to their musical heroes when they performed alongside Pat Benatar and Joan Jett, respectively, on Wednesday's edition of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.'

In the episode, which was centered on influential women in music, Avril joined Benatar for a performance of the latter's classic hit 'Love Is a Battlefield.' Immediately afterwards, Avril told Winfrey that sharing the stage with Benatar was a "huge" highlight of her career. "It's the biggest honor ever," said the pop-punk singer. "This is such a moment for me to remember."

Earlier in the show, Miley traded verses with Jett on a medley of the veteran rocker's hits from her solo career and her days in the Runaways. Miley was also blown away by the chance to rock out with Jett. "It's amazing," explained Miley. "It's always meant something to me just seeing Joan stand up for chicks who want to pick up the guitar."

The episode also featured performances by Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks (with Sheryl Crow), hip-hop pioneers Salt-N-Pepa and R&B group Sister Sledge.
