Carrie Fisher has officially confirmed she and her co-star Harrison Ford were involved in a three-month affair while filming Star Wars back in 1976.

“It was so intense,” she told PEOPLE of their relationship. “It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend.”

Fisher — who was 19 at the time, while Ford was 34 — wrote about the affair in her forthcoming memoir The Princess Diarist.

The Star Wars: The Force Awakens actress says she was immediately seized by insecurity following the former pair's first evening together, which took place after a birthday party thrown for director George Lucas.

“I looked over at Harrison. A hero’s face — a few strands of hair fell over his noble, slightly furrowed brow,” she wrote in an excerpt from the book via PEOPLE. “How could you ask such a shining specimen of a man to be satisfied with the likes of me?”

Ford was a father to two children and was married to Mary Marquardt at the time of his reported affair with Fisher, which she notes ended once Star Wars wrapped shooting.

“I was so inexperienced, but I trusted something about him,” she reportedly wrote. “He was kind.”

Fisher has since responded to reports of the book’s excerpts via Twitter, saying they were taken out of context, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She failed to elaborate further, though she did offer that she would "never talk about how someone was in any furniture -- chair, bed, coffee table or otherwise."

Carrie Fisher's The Princess Diarist hits shelves on November 18.
